Who We Are

Handcrafted Coastal Furniture, Built Right Here in Asbury Park

Cottage By The Sea Woodworking is a one-of-a-kind custom furniture studio rooted in the Jersey Shore. We design and build heirloom-quality pieces — river tables, dining tables, shelving, consoles, and more — for homeowners, restaurants, and businesses across Monmouth County, Ocean County, and beyond.

Every piece leaves our Asbury Park workshop carrying the marks of intentional craftsmanship: hand-selected slabs, carefully poured resin, traditional joinery, and finishes chosen to last a lifetime. We do not believe in shortcuts, and we do not build furniture you will replace in five years.

With over 500 projects completed and a 4.9-star rating on Google, our reputation is built entirely on the quality of our work and the experience of working with us — from the first consultation to final installation.

Our Approach

Every Project Starts with a Conversation

We believe custom furniture should feel personal — because it is. That is why every project begins with a consultation where we listen first. We take measurements, discuss your style, and walk you through wood selection, epoxy options, and mounting hardware.

Customers at Cottage By The Sea are part of the build without being in the shop. You choose your slab. You choose your finish. The result is a piece that is entirely yours — built for your space, your taste, and your life.

Who We Are

Will Cusick — Owner & Lead Craftsman

What started as a passion project in the basement of his Ocean Grove home twelve years ago has grown into one of the most respected custom woodworking studios on the Jersey Shore. Will Cusick built Cottage By The Sea from scratch — and still builds every piece by hand.

The son of a self-described “hippie,” Will developed a deep appreciation for handmade work at a young age. He saw it as a lost art — one worth preserving. Today, with more than 500 projects completed, he brings that same passion to every slab he selects and every pour he makes.

“Customers can be part of the build without being there. They choose their slab, their epoxy, their hardware. That connection to the process is what makes each piece truly theirs.”
